$23.22The Story
Comfort, ridiculous performance for the price, and a custom fit with 3/4 length lacing are the name of the game for Evolv's Defy Lace climbing shoe. The Lace's single layer leather and semi-perforated upper is a bit of a detour from it's velcro brethren, which feature a synthetic upper. You can expect some stretch as the shoe molds to the intricacies of your feet.
The big difference, obviously, is the 3/4 lacing system, which offers a more customized fit and a bit more power driven to the toe box. A 1.2mm midsole and vaguely asymmetrical toe boasts a strong platform for edging on technical faces and a touch more confidence when the route tips beyond vertical.

- Single-layer leather with a perforated upper allows a customized break-in (expect some stretch here)
- 3/4 length speed lace closure serves up a more custom fit, enabling a tighter shoe when the route demands more performance
- 1.2 mm full-length midsole and slightly asymmetric toe profile offer edging capabilities on techy face climbing
- 4.2mm of rubber ensure a shoe that will last as your abilities grow
