The Story
An ultralight powder ski with the chops for serious technical lines, Black Diamond's Helio 116 Carbon is built to live in the soft stuff. With a fairly soft flex and 145mm shovels, these sticks will plane up in deep snow for fast laps on deep days. It'll still push into aggressive carved turns on smoother snow, perhaps at every-so-slightly slower speeds.
The Helio 116 shines on the skin track, as you'd imagine, thanks to the grams shaved onto the R&D floor. This is a quiver ski meant for the dedicated ski touring fanatic, hitting the track and hunting powder stashes.
